Cleaning out a nasty used-car engine bay and door sills. Spent 45 minutes on this and I have immense respect for the people who do this for a living, though I’m sure they have more than an old microfiber and some water to work with.
Need to get some 303 Aerospace Protectant for all of the plastic bits, the front doors could DEFINITELY use new door sills due to how deformed they are on the leading edge of the window frame, probably contributing to a little bit of the “not as quiet as it could be”-ness of the car. Interior badly needs a detail but I have a few other things I would like to do like have the driver seat upholstery fixed, replace the shift knob, revamp the audio system, and have the steering wheel reupholstered (definitely a priority, I get the heeby jeebies any time I grab it due to the nasty disintegrating leather).

looks good. if you think that was dirty you’d probably keel over at the sight of the CR-V’s bay and door sills, we simply just lack the time to clean it

I believe the idea is in a front end collision it hooks into that hole on the hood and keeps it from sliding up the a-pillars..

Looking way much better. I love a clean engine, but now as much as clean door shuts.
Many clean the exterior, dry it off, polish and wax it. Then you open the door to get in and dirt from the sills catches your trousers and leaves dirt near your ankle or side of your shin. Pet hate of mine (amongst very many others in car cleaning, lol).
